International Lifesaving Federation ILS
The International Life Saving Federation (ILS) comprises over 130 national life saving organisations/federations aiming at improving water safety, drowning prevention, water rescue, lifesaving and lifeguarding and lifesaving sport.
Lifesaving is a sanctioned discipline within the World Games, an event featuring various sports acknowledged by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) but not yet incorporated into the Olympic program. This discipline encompasses a range of events, including Beach Flags, Iron(wo)man/Ocean(wo)man, and the 200-meter Super Lifesaver.
Lifesaving Sport Events
The primary aim of lifesaving sport was to incentivize lifeguards to cultivate, uphold, and enhance the crucial physical and mental proficiencies required for effective water rescue and life-saving endeavours.
